Betty Osterman Estes

Betty Osterman Estes, age 80, of KY Hwy 3276 in Waynesburg, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Landmark of Lancaster.  Born Wednesday, October 14, 1936 in the Ottenheim Community of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Anthony “Tony” & Mary Henzen Osterman.  Her loving husband, whom she married June 15, 1957, is Howard Estes of Waynesburg.  Betty worked at Cowden’s in Lancaster for 10 years and retired as a Custodian at Waynesburg Elementary.  For the past 40 plus years, she was the caretaker of Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.  Betty was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Ottenheim where she also was a member of the Alter Society for many years.  In her spare time, she loved watching sports.

In addition to her husband, Betty leaves behind two sons, Tony Estes and Paul Estes (Martha) both of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren, Hannah Griffin (Brandon) of Stanford, and Clay Estes, Logan Estes, and Aaron Estes all of Kings Mountain; and one brother, Anton “Bud” Osterman of Waynesburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Loretta Schuler and Katherine Osterman (infant).

A Funeral Mass will be held 12Noon Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church with Father Peter Joseph officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.  Clay Estes, Logan Estes, Aaron Estes, Brandon Griffin, Bill Tucker, Dale Osterman, Raymond Schuler will serve as Active Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 10AM-12Noon Wednesday, at the church.
