David Lee Smith

David Lee Smith, age 62, of Stanford, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.  Born Friday, October 28, 1955 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Calvin C. & Janie Ruth Smith.  David was a 1974 graduate of Stanford High School.  He worked, over the years, as a Broadcasting Engineer, for WPBK FM, WTVQ TV, KET, WBKI TV, and did work for other stations as well.  David was a Stanford City Firefighter and received the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2011.  He was also a previous member (1992-2004) of the Waynesburg 328 F&AM. 

David leaves behind his wife, Candella “Candy” Smith of Lawrenceburg; five sons, Matthew Aaron Smith (Bethany) of Louisville, Logan Tyler Smith and Solomon Lee Smith both of Richmond, Dale Smith of North Carolina, and Konstantin Haneke of Germany; two grandchildren, Kaiden Smith and Taylor Smith; four brothers, Calvin Lynn Smith (Leticia) of Lancaster, Phillip Layne Smith of Brodhead, Jonathan Logan Smith (Dolores) of Marathon, Florida, and Joseph Lanier Smith of Lexington; one sister, Amy Lu Bastin (Jim) of Stanford; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held 7:00PM Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Grace Fellowship Church with Bro. Vola Brown officiating the service.  The Visitation will be held 4-7PM Sunday at the church.

A Graveside Service & Burial will be held 2:00PM Monday, January 29, 2018 at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Anyone that would like to join the procession to Buffalo Springs Cemetery, please meet at Fox & Friend Funeral Home at 1:30PM Monday.  Stanford City Fire Department will serve as Active Pallbearers.  John Gill will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
