Ella B. Atkins Moore

Ella B. Atkins Moore, age 90, of the Geneva Community in Lincoln County, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  Born Saturday, October 18, 1924 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin & Mary Anna Adams Atkins.  She was the widow of her late beloved husband, Charles W. Moore, who preceded her in death on September 27, 2008.  Ella was a member of Redemption Road Church and was a homemaker.  She will always be remembered for her famous fried chicken and banana pudding.

Ella leaves behind three daughters, Anna Pearl Moore of the Geneva Community, Linda Rose Propes of Liberty, and Vicky Carla Graves (Darryl) of Stanford; one brother, Tommy Atkins of Bryantsville; one sister, Gladys Martin of Ohio; 6 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a long-time friend, Louverna Wilcher. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Ray Moore; three brothers, Bud Atkins, Bill Atkins, and Gene Atkins; four sisters, Lula Bray, Nancy Atkins, Ettie Baker, and Jackie Hale; and one great-grandson, Eric Ray Maples.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Redemption Road Church (old location), KY Hwy 698, Stanford, KY, with Bro. Gary Yocum and son-in-law, Darryl Graves  officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Jeffery Graves, Taylor Martin, Junior Baker, Jonathan Adams, Doug Fields, Brian Garrett, Steven Kidd, and Josey Fields will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Larry Moore, Tommy Atkins, Susan Brown, Shirley Moore, and Linda Carole Brown will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

The Visitation will be held 6-9PM Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the church.
