James Clarence "J.C." Grabeel

James Clarence “J.C.” Grabeel, age 90, of KY Hwy 1247 in Eubank, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.  Born Monday, July 5, 1926 in Jabez, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Oscar & Vonia Tarter Grabeel.  He was the widower of the late Dewana Reynolds Grabeel, who preceded him in death February 25, 2010.  J.C. was a US Army World War II Veteran, began Southeastern Real Estate & Appraisal with his brother, and retired from the state as a Real Estate Appraiser.  He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, was a loving family man, was an avid reader, and loved his animals and garden. 

J.C. leaves behind three daughters, Vonia Grabeel and Traci Grabeel both of Lexington, and Diane Stevens (Glenn) of Science Hill; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Grabeel of Somerset; one brother, J.W. Grabeel (Louise) of Somerset; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members who mourn his passing.

In addition to his wife and parents, J.C. was preceded in death by one son, Danny Grabeel.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Bro. Kerry Jones officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery with Full Military Honors Performed by the Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion.  Shannon Reynolds, Matthew Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, Dan Picard, Jacob William Grabeel II, and Brian Oliver will serve as Active Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Tuesday, October 18, 2016 and after 9AM Wednesday at the church. 

The Patriot Guard Riders will also perform their duties for the Funeral Service.
