James Robert "Jim" Rector, Sr.

James Robert “Jim” Rector, Sr., age 75 of Waynesburg, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at his residence.  Born Saturday, May 17, 1941 in Sharonville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ruth Oaks Rector. Jim was a sheet metal worker and farmer, and a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church.  In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, raising a garden, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Clara Dykes Rector whom he married May 29, 1965; one son, James Robert Rector, Jr. (Dee) of Waynesburg; two daughters, Libby Spanyer (Michael) of Lancaster, and Linda Rector (Cindy) of Moreland; three brothers, Tommy Rector of Waynesburg, Larry Rector (Alice) of Radcliff, Kentucky, and Glen Rector of Waynesburg; four sisters, Pearl May (Gerald) of Waynesburg, Marcy May (Jimmie) of Waynesburg, Judy Horton of Moreland, and Janet Terry (Earl) of Stanford; five grandchildren, Kristian Rector, Michelle Spanyer, Michael Spanyer, Jackie Bradley, and Bubba Wheeler; and six great-grandchildren, Alexis Wheeler, Dean Wheeler, Cutter Wheeler, Tuff Wheeler, Alisha Bradley and D.J. Bradley.

A Funeral Service will be held 12:00PM Monday, February 13, 2017 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Lonnie Sewell officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.  Chris May, Thomas Ed Rector, John Thomas Rector, Shawn Rector, Nick Ernest, and Josh Ernest will serve as Active Pallbearers. 

The Visitation will be held 6-9PM Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
