Laura Mae Robbins

Laura Mae Robbins, age 90, of McKinney, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at Charleston Health Care Center in Danville.  Born Thursday, October 14, 1926 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Lonzo & Janie Ross Barnett.  She was the widow of the late Oral C. Robbins, who preceded her in death on February 23, 2015.  Laura Mae was a homemaker and member of Green River Pentecostal Church.  In past years, she hosted all evangelists at the church, cleaned the parsonage, and helped cook numerous meals for gatherings at the church.  She also loved going to McDonalds and loved to vacation with her husband.

Laura Mae leaves behind one brother-in-law, Wendell Robbins of Monroe, Ohio; caretakers, Hershel & Alice Carpenter of McKinney; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends and family who mourn her passing. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Ann Robbins Moore; and one brother, Emmit Lee Barnett.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Green River Pentecostal Church with Bro. Rick Naylor & Bro. Bill Walls officiating the service.   Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Hershel Carpenter, Johnny Mack Brown, Johnny Walls, Bobby Brown, Lester Carpenter, and Bill Walls will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Pauline Moore, Verna Robinson, Linda Walls, Judy Derringer, Vivian Luttrell, Bonnie McWhorter, Linda Sue Carpenter, Dessie Lay, Edna Griffin, Linda Carpenter Lewis, Sheila Martin, and Peggy Coffman will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Visitations will be held 5-9PM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 and 12Noon until service time Thursday at the church.

The family would like to thank Charleston Health Care Center for their great care of Laura Mae the past year and a half she stayed there.  Also, the family would like to thank Fox & Friend Funeral Home for their special care given to them during this time of Laura Mae’s passing.
