Pastor Melvin Ray Arnold of Eubank, KY, met his Savior face-to-face on December 30, 2017.
He spent 84 years, on this earth, before moving to his Long Home.
Ray was born May 16, 1933 in Perryville, KY, to Georgia Snyder-Arnold and John Dorsey Arnold.
He enjoyed 56+ years of marriage with Arvileen Belcher-Cox-Arnold.
Brother Arnold had been a devoted pastor of Singletontown First Church of God. He was also previously a pastor at Gravel Switch First Church of God, Beulah First Church of God, & Newell First Church of God.
Ray loved preaching God’s word, reading, and KY basketball. He loved spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed playing checkers and spending time, with his friends at the 27 Flea Market. Although Ray worked various jobs, over the years, such as Corning Glass, Jackson of Danville, Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Harrodsburg, and Arnold’s Grocery in Forkland, he was a farmer at heart and spent many years working the land.
His presence will be truly missed by all.
He is survived by: his wife: Arvileen; his sons: Stephen Arnold & Beverly; Mark Arnold; Perry Arnold & Cyndy; Eugene Arnold; Ricky Cox & Liz; Tony Cox & Diane; his daughters: Kathy Wilson & Stuart; Carolyn Brainard & Bob; Cathy Conder; his sisters: Ann Hope Kellington and Helen Lynch; numerous grandchildren; g-grandchildren, & gg-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Dorsey and Georgia Arnold; his brothers and sisters: Mary Louise Kramer, Irene Powell, Francis “Dodie” Arnold, Henry Lee “Jimmer” Arnold, Clarice Gorley, John “Jack” Arnold, Harold “Pete” Arnold, and Jean Whitlock; & step-sister: Della “Tootsie” Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Salvation Army.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Singletontown First Church of God on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00AM.
