Samuel W. "Sammy" Coulter

Samuel W. “Sammy” Coulter, born Sunday August 19, 1956, in Stanford, Kentucky, to the late Samuel & Sally F. Barnett Coulter, fought his final battle with cancer, and met his Almighty God, at the Leestown Road location of VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, at 9:05PM, on Thursday, August 3, 2017.

Sammy graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1977.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and served from 1977 to 1986.  After being honorably discharged from the military, Sammy worked at RR Donnelley’s in Danville.  In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Henry Coulter; three sisters, Freida Stevenson, Regina Ballard, and Suzanne Coulter. 

Sammy leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Sue Coulter of Danville, and Patricia Kellam of Louisville; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

Honoring Sammy’s wishes, Cremation Rites have been carried out.  A Public Memorial Service, celebrating Sammy’s life, will be held 4:00PM Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Stanford Baptist Church, 204 Church Street, Stanford, with Elder Jerry Wilkinson and Bro. Nick Manzie officiating the service.  Following the service, Full Military Rites will be conducted by the Caswell-Saufley American Legion Post #18.

The Visitation will be held 2PM-4PM Saturday at the church.
