Stanley G. Sluder

Stanley G. Sluder, age 87, of Lloyd Ruckel Road in Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his residence. Born Sunday, July 6, 1930 in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Elzie & Ivis Speigle Sluder. His loving wife, whom he married August 1, 1986 is Mary Lou Davidson Sluder of Waynesburg. Stanley retired from General Motors and was a member of Cuba Community Church of God in Eubank, Kentucky, where he served as Associate Pastor and several other ministry positions at the church. Stanley loved to collect stamps, coins, and guns, was a UK Basketball fan, and was a member of the NRA.

In addition to his wife, Stanley leaves behind five sons, Michael Sluder (Viola) of Hamersville, Ohio, Stanley D. Sluder (Kathy) of Fayette County, Ohio, Kevin Sluder of Norwood, Ohio, Ray Saylor (Ashleigh) and Ricky Saylor (Karen) both of Waynesburg; four daughters, Kim Johnson (Sam) of Waynesburg, Marcia Sparks of Danville, Kentucky, Sandy Davidson of Bethel, Ohio, and Ivis Jones (Steven) of Danville; one brother, Paul Sluder (Freida) of Eubank; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Wayne McCleese of Mt. Orab, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his late wife, Mary Elizabeth Sluder; one son, Keith Sluder; one daughter, Denise McCleese; one sister, Kathy Keeling; and one brother-in-law, Melvin Keeling; two grandchildren, Michelle Taylor and Daniel McCleese.

A Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Roberts officiating the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Kevin Sluder, Ricky Saylor, Dwight Sluder, Ray Saylor, Zachariah Sparks, and Sam Johnson will serve as Active Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 6-9PM Friday, July 14, 2017 at the funeral home.
