Bro. Ron Barnett

Bro. Ron Barnett, age 78, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  Born Wednesday, March 21, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late James Harold & Marie Sims Barnett.  His loving wife, whom he married Friday, February 28, 1964, is Mary Ann Combs Barnett.  Ron served as a minister, for over 49 years, in the communities of Pineville, Kentucky, Wheelersburg, Ohio, Meta, Kentucky, Waynesburg, Kentucky, Stanford, Kentucky, Campton, Kentucky, and Pulaski County, Kentucky.  He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Stanford and will be known for his love of God and his family.

In addition to his wife, Ron leaves behind two sons, Paul Barnett (Vicky) of Waynesburg and Darik Barnett (Bridget) of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Darik Logan Barnett of Nashville, Tennessee, Levi Spencer Barnett of Waynesburg, and Ashley Cheyenne Barnett, Alexa Faith Wesley, and Heather Nicole Barnett all of Louisville, Kentucky; special extended family, Lura Combs of Stanford, Loretta & Jerry Brock of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, Ruth & John Reinhardt of Carmel, Indiana, and Anita Combs of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing. 

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by an and infant son, James Stewart Barnett; and a special extended family member, Paul Ray Combs. 

A Public Visitation will be held 12-2PM Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.

The Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, at the funeral home.  Bro. Vola Brown & Bro. Brad King will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Ron’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website. 

Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.  Paul Barnett, Vicky Barnett, Darik Barnett, Bridget Barnett, Levi Barnett, and Bro. Brad King will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Jerry Brock & John Reinhardt will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

Memorial Contributions suggested to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Shriners, the Galilean Home, or Gideons International.
