Carol Ann Palmer Metevier, age 78, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. Born Wednesday, January 1, 1941 in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth & Doris Austin Chase Shank. Carol worked, for many years, as a nursing assistant, and was of The Church of God Denomination. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed reading, watching TV, embroidering, and crocheting.
Carol leaves behind two sons, Cary Merrill Palmer, Jr. (Beth) of Dundee, Florida, and Arthur Cary Palmer III of Wheeling, West Virginia; five daughters, Helen Edna Palmer Rothgeb (Timothy) of High Bridge, Kentucky, Faith Ann Palmer Basham of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Sheri Ann Palmer Spurway (Richard) of Somerset, Lisa Marie Palmer Cole of Winchester, Kentucky, and Renee Lynn Metevier Clark of Nicholasville; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathern “Kim” Irene Metevier; two husbands, Cary Merrill Palmer and Eril Louis Metevier, Jr.; two grandchildren, Tabitha Renee Rothgeb and Chad Brandon Rosser; and one son-in-law, Freddie Joe Cole.
Cremation Rites have been honored. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Double Springs Cemetery with John David Friend officiating the service. Burial will immediately follow the service.
