George Shea, Jr.

George Shea, Jr., age 97, of Eubank, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Stanford Care & Rehabilitation Center.  Born Saturday, May 29, 1920 in Black Wolf, West Virginia, he was the son of the late George Shea, Sr, and the late Laura Phillippe Shea.  George was the widower of the late Pearl Caudill Shea, who preceded him in death August 29, 1984.  George was a WWII US Army Veteran, and was a retired farmer and a logger.  He was a member of Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church. 

George leaves behind one son, Dennis Shea (Sharon) of Eubank; three grandchildren, George Dennis Shea, Mary Elizabeth Weaver (Nathaniel) and Katherine Ann Shea; two great-grandchildren and one due in February and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Shea, Tom Shea, and Elbert Shea; and three sisters, Eula Sims, Blanch McMullen, and Evelyn Smith. 

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Elder Elwood Cornett & Bro. Jason Hall officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery in Casey County.  George D. Shea, Tim Brewster, Nathaniel Weaver, Darrell Horst, Nicholas Butt, and Freeman Caudill will serve as Active Pallbearers. 

The Visitation will be held 6-8 Friday, January 19, 2018 at the funeral home.
