John A. Akers Obituary

John A. Akers, age 80, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Harrodsburg Health & Rehabilitation in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Born Friday, October 21, 1938 in Boyle County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Walter L. & Elsie Bryant Akers. John loved watching sports and was a big University of Kentucky fan.

John leaves behind four sisters, Dorothy Green of Danville, Patty Mays (Phillip) of Georgetown, Kentucky, Linda Nichols (Earl Kent) of Harrodsburg, and Martha Grigsby of Danville; two step-daughters, Susan Cresswell of Scotland, and Stephanie Curran of Canada; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold Akers, Bob Akers, James Akers, and Eugene Edwards; and one sister, Jynmia Morris.

Cremation Rites have been honored. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
