Marquetta Sue “Sis” Tarter

Marquetta Sue “Sis” Tarter, age 51, of Lee Drive in Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at her residence.  Born Friday, November 4, 1966 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Chester Ray Tarter and the late Norma Jean Middleton Tarter. Marquetta was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.  She was an excellent mother to her son, Chris; loved her animals; and enjoyed fishing and camping in her spare time.

Marquetta leaves behind one son, Christopher Dakota Tarter of Stanford; her father, Chester Ray Tarter (Debbie) of Perryville, Kentucky; two brothers, Michael Tarter (Linda) of Harrodsburg and Joey Tarter of Stanford; one step-brother, Christopher Scott Tarter (Amy) of Columbia, Kentucky; one step-sister, Cassie Lentz (Adam) of Liberty, Kentucky; one niece, Cynthia Ann Tarter of Stanford; two nephews, Trevor Ty’ Jordan Tarter (Sara Holt) of Stanford, and Tre’ Braxston Johnson of Stanford; one great-nephew, Ty’ Jordan Trevon Tarter of Stanford; one great-niece, Gracie Mae Tarter of Stanford; and a special friend, Lucille Justice of Waynesburg, Kentucky. 

Marquetta was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Jean Middleton Tarter; and one sister, Ona Mae “Missy” Tarter.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Best & Rev. Dennis Miller officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  David Warner, Bobby Warner, Derek Bottoms, Gregory Hume, Kevin S. Smock, and Robert Johnson will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Lucille Justice, Christopher Scott Tarter, Jerry Cox, and Marquetta’s nieces and nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the funeral home.
