Rebecca Lee "Dotty" Carter

Rebecca Lee “Dotty” Carter, age 97, a resident of Jeffersontown Rehabilitation in Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018.  Born Tuesday, September 21, 1920 in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late Newell & Alva Holtzclaw Fox.  Dotty was the widow of the late Walter Raines Carter, who preceded her in death November 22, 1977.  Dotty was a homemaker and member of Stanford Presbyterian Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crosstitch quilting and previously made many infant quilts for children in need.  Dotty also loved playing Bingo with her friends at the facility.  Dotty loved people and seemed to never meet a stranger. 

Dotty leaves behind one son, Newell Wright Carter (Susie) of Middletown, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Lori Lynn Bibb (Butch) and Newell Allen Carter both of Louisville, Kentucky; seven great-grandchildren, Shelby Compton (Kaleb), Zack Carter, Brett Bibb, Sara Bibb, Nick Carter, Dylan Carter, and Maddie Carter; one great-great grandson, Andrew Compton; and several nieces, nephews and other extended relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dotty was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy H. Fox and Jess Fox; and one sister, Nancy Lynn Davis. 

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Mumper officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

The Visitation will be held 11AM-2PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
