Bobbie Jean Combs, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at her residence. She was 83.
Born on Sunday, August 29, 1937, to the late Benjamin McKinney & Dora Cress-McKinney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shannon Combs, whom she wed Monday, April 5, 1954, in Jellico, Tennessee.
Bobbie Jean worked at American Greetings, for over 20 years. Bobbie Jean was a faithful member of Polly Ann Baptist Church, where she was the song leader for many years. Bobbie Jean enjoyed cooking and family dinners, enjoyed raising a garden and canning vegetables, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Bobbie Jean is survived by three sons, Gregory Ray Combs (Ellen) and Timothy Dale Combs (Sandra) both of Eubank, and Rodney Lee Combs (Candi) of Science Hill, Kentucky. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Candy Hill (Jeff), Michelle Bowling (Danny), Casey Lee Combs (Paige), Madison Vaughn (Joseph), Jake Combs, and Brooke Combs; eight great-grandchildren, Hailey Hill, Caleb & Colton Bowling, Sophie & Rhett Combs, Bentley Wethington, and Madelyn & Eleanor Vaughn.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bobbie Jean was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed McKinney, Harold McKinney, and Royal McKinney; and one sister, Eutheda Dietrich.
A Public Visitation will be held 5-7PM Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the funeral home. Bro. Terry Holt will officiate the service. The Public Funeral Service will be live streamed on Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home Facebook page.
Burial will follow in McKinney Cemetery in Eubank. Joey Combs, Sheldon Propes, Casey Combs, Jacob Combs, Matt Cooper, and James McKinney will serve as Active Pallbearers. Sandra Combs, Brooke Combs, Frances McKinney, and Brenda McKinney will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to current COVID -19 regulations, face coverings must be worn by all in attendance for the Public Visitation, Funeral Service, and Graveside Service; and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
