Carl Thomas Mason, loving husband, dad, and poppy, age 57, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born Tuesday, December 6, 1966, in Somerset, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Millard Clemon & Lola Bea Jacobs Mason. His loving wife, whom he married Saturday, November 7, 1987, is Cheryl Jenkins Mason of Kings Mountain. Carl worked as a machine operator for 36 years, with Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. Carl was also a hard-working farmer, loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed vacationing and camping with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Carl leaves behind four children, Daniel Thomas Mason (Jenna Gosney) of Kings Mountain, Rebecca Ann Mason Piles (Bradley) of Bardstown, Kentucky, Emily Kate Mason Morgan (Billy) of Kings Mountain, and Ethan Nathaniel Mason of Kings Mountain; three grandchildren, Riley Morgan, Aubrey Morgan, and Zane Morgan; three brothers, Clem Mason (Kim) of Stanford, Kentucky, Louis Mason (Renate) of Waynesburg, Kentucky, and Jeff Mason of Liberty, Kentucky; three sisters, Sylvia Leach (Jerry) of Waynesburg, Pam Mason of Waynesburg, and Bonnie Hasty (Bobby) of Waynesburg; and several other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan Mason and Neil Mason; and one infant sister, Sue Mason.
Public Visitations will be held 4-8PM Friday, April 19, 2024, and 12PM-2PM Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, at the funeral home. Bro. David Gambrel and Bro. Joe Hatter will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Carl’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.
Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Daniel Mason, Ethan Mason, Bradley Piles, Billy Morgan, Wade Watts, Donnie Calhoun, and Johnny Gaddis will serve as Active Pallbearers. Clem Mason and Kevin Marlar will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
