Evylee Lanigan, age 95, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away at her residence Monday, July 18, 2022. Born Sunday, March 20, 1927, in Letcher County, Kentucky, she was the daughter to the late Frazier and Melvinia Jent Adams. Evylee was the widow to Paul Lanigan who she married Friday, March 7, 1947, and preceded her in death on Friday, October 3, 1986. She was known for good sense of humor, keeping everyone laughing. Evylee enjoyed gardening, canning, her visit to the Grand Ole Opry and Renfro Valley. She loved taking care of and feeding her family dearly, as she had a loving heart and a firm hand when needed.
Evylee leaves behind four sons, Danny Lanigan of Brooksville, Florida, Linville Lanigan of Nicholasville, Kentucky, David Lanigan (Mary) of Somerset, Kentucky, and Rodney Lanigan (Wendy) of Danville, Kentucky; eight daughters, Shirley Robbins of Stanford, Kentucky, Lynette Black (Joe) of Yosemite, Kentucky, Louise Ensley (Charlie) of Stanford, Janie Barron (Dale) of Somerset, Kim West (Charlie) of Carmel, Indiana, Carolyn Sparks of Moreland, Kentucky, Teona Luster (Dennis) of New Salem, Kentucky and Shaun Lanigan of Waynesburg; 29 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Gloria Lanigan; one brother, Keith Adams of Ohio; and three sisters, Cindy Phumprey of Eubank, Kentucky, Jean Lanigan of Waynesburg and Ora Sue Todd of New Castle, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, Evylee was preceded in death by one son, Donald Lanigan: six brothers, Kermit, Beryl, Rudell, Frazier, Jr., Kenneth Adam, and Dennis Adams.
A Public Visitation will be held 12-2PM Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Sunday at the funeral home. Bro. Vola Brown will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Evylee’s grandsons will serve as Active Pallbearers.
