Gary Coffey Obituary

Gary Coffey, age 71, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky.  Born Friday, July 6, 1951, in Garrard County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Edward & Delores Coffey.  His loving wife, whom he married Friday, June 5, 1970, is Carolyn Gehlhausen Coffey of Stanford.  Gary was a Railroad Engineer for Norfolk Southern for 34 years.  Gary loved his family dearly and enjoyed being with people.  He attended Calvary Hill Baptist Church, enjoyed playing golf and watching football, in his spare time.

In addition to his wife, Gary leaves behind two sons, Shane Coffey of Junction City, Kentucky, and Matthew Coffey (Ashley) of Stanford; one daughter, Shawna Rogers (William Carl) of Stanford; nine grandchildren, Ryan Douglas, Deziree Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Chelsea Withers, Olivia Coffey, Gage Coffey, Daniel Coffey, Sara Coffey, and Easton Coffey; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donnie Coffey of Cynthiana, Kentucky, and several extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

Cremation Rites honored.  A Memorial Service, will be conducted by the family at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, at a later date.
