Harold Cordier, age 81, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Stanford Care & Rehabilitation. Born Friday, July 22, 1938 in Stanford, he was the son of the late Ernest & Betty Barnett Cordier. His loving wife, whom he married Friday, November 11, 1994, is Velma Ann Godbey Cordier of Stanford. Harold was a farmer and member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. Harold was a sports enthusiast, especially UK Basketball, loved any type of car racing, and wrestling.
In addition to his wife, Harold leaves behind two sons, Robert Cordier of Stanford and Ernest Cordier (Leslie) of Brodhead, Kentucky; two daughters, Betty LeMonds of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and Barbara Carrier (Marty) of Stanford; one step-son, Michael Elliott of Stanford; one step-daughter, whom he loved like his own, Carla Elliott Martin (Steve) of Hustonville, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Joe Smith (Lisa), Samantha Cordier, Dustin Cordier, Courtney Abrams (Randall), Jeremy LeMonds (Katherine), Brooke Rouse (Bennett), Jordan Payne, Summer Darnell (Jake), Daniel Sebastian and Jarrod Payne; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild due in January 2021; two brothers, Samuel Cordier (Mayme Lou) of Louisville, Kentucky, and William Cordier (Peggy) of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; “special son,” Joe Hampton (Charlotte); “special granddaughter,” Shaylee Alcorn; and several extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by one step-son, Robbie Brown; one great-grandchild, Leah Catherine Cordier; one brother, Ray Cordier; and one sister, Anna Belle Chambers.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00AM Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. T.J. Godby officiating the service. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Harold’s grandsons, and other family members, will serve as Active Pallbearers. Tommy Sudduth, Deacons of Crab Orchard Baptist Church, Tommy Owens and Bobby Gene Robbins will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The funeral service will be live streamed on our Facebook page.
The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Friday, June 26, 2020 at the funeral home.
