James Cress

James Dale Cress, age 75, of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at his home.  Born on Wednesday, December 3, 1947, in Harlan, Ky., he was the son of the late Clarence and Ollie Mae Caudill Cress.  James was a CNA and loved being with his Family.  He dearly loved his daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  James had a strong faith in the Lord and taught it to his Family. 

James leaves behind his daughter, Gracie Cress of Lancaster; his son, Mackie Brock (Paula) of Crab Orchard; grandchildren, David Bailey, Daniel Bailey, Moriah Halcomb, Charlie Shepherd, Taiden Brown, Malayah Brown, and Amare Brown; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers Claude Cress of Benham, Ky and Bobby Cress of Jeffersonville, In; two sister’s Jurlene Velkoff-Cummins and Ann Bowen. 

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife Margie Cress whom he married on July 14, 1989.

A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 1:00-2:00pm at Fox & Friend Funeral Home. 

The Public Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm, with Bro Jeremy Gilliam officiating the service. 

Burial will follow at Pentecostal Fellowship Church Cemetery in Lancaster.
