Jerry Oakes, age 82 of Stanford, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at his residence. Born Friday, May 26, 1939 in Stanford, he was the son of the late Willie J. Oakes and Emma Lee Deatherage Oakes. His wife Joyce Young Oakes preceded him in death.

Jerry was the former owner of Stanford Ready Mix. Jerry had either worked or owned Stanford Ready Mix for over 50 years. Jerry was a huge Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan.

Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory one son, Steve Oakes (Michelle) of Stanford. Grandchildren, Devin Oakes, Brandy Oakes, and Amber Denney. Great Grandchildren, Gavin Brown, Hadden Brown, Waylon Brown, Abigail Brown, Drayton Denney, and Jaycee Denney.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by son, Lenny Oakes, and daughter Sandy Long.

Jerry's wishes for Cremation have been honored.
