John M. “Jack” Bright, age 95, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, in Stanford. Born Friday, August 6, 1926, in Danville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Burdette Ramsey & Laura Mae McDonald Bright. His loving wife, whom he married Friday, November 2, 1951, is Joanne Hale Bright of Stanford. Jack was a US Army World War II Navy veteran and worked at the Louisville-Jefferson County Board of Health, for 38 years. Jack was a member of Stanford Presbyterian Church, member of the Lincoln County Historical Society, member of the local American Legion Post, and loved cars.
In addition to his wife, Jack leaves behind one son, John Hale Bright (Christine) of Rockwall, Texas; two grandchildren, Christopher Bright, and Andrea Bright Keto (Christopher) both of Rockwall; and two nephews, James Kelly of North Carolina and Bill Kelly of South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one sister, Linnette Bright Kelly (Bob).
Cremation Rites have been honored. Private Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. A Public Graveside Memorial Service, with Full Military Honors, will be held 10:00AM Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the shelter of Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Rev. Brad Napier will officiate the service.
