Johnny "John" Downey

Johnny “John” Downey, age 51, of Lancaster, Kentucky, formerly of New Jersey, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. Born Saturday, January 31, 1970, in Louisville, Kentucky. His loving wife, whom he married Saturday, September 18, 1993, is Tammy Moody Downey of Lancaster. Johnny loved racing cars and attending car shows. He was friendly to everyone, enjoyed working on the farm and traveling with his family. Johnny loved his family. He put up a strong fight to live.

In addition to his wife, Johnny leaves behind three sons, Johnny Downey, Jr., Eric Christopher Downey and Nathan Patrick Downey all of Lancaster; one brother, Jasper Downey; parents, William and Chris Sellards Wahl; and father and mother-in-law, Richard and Roberta Moody.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 3:00PM on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the Fox & Friend Funeral Home, Stanford. Cremation rites will follow the service.

A Public Visitation will be held 1-3PM Sunday, at the funeral home.
