Joyce Carol Moore

Joyce Carol Moore, age 80, of McKinney, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at her home.  Born Saturday, February 21, 1942, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Chester & Gladys Daugherty Moore.  Joyce was the widow of the late Larry S. Moore, whom she married Saturday, October 22, 1960, and preceded her in death Wednesday, January 19, 2022.  Joyce worked for many years at Cowden’s Manufacturing in Stanford and retired from American Greetings.  Joyce was a faithful member of Green River Pentecostal Church, where she and her husband served as janitors for 17 years.  Joyce was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed cross-stitch, crochet, quilting, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed collecting and refinishing antique furniture. 

Joyce leaves behind one son, Rickie Moore (Bonnie) of Waynesburg, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Natasha Sanford (Joel) of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Erick Moore of Lexington, Kentucky; three great-grandchildren, Sadie, Silas, and Sylvie Sanford; one brother, Donald Moore (Mary Alice) of McKinney; two sisters, Rita Owens (Jackie) of McKinney, and Judy Terry (Tommy) of Honolulu, Hawaii; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Moore and Russell Moore; and two sisters, Louise Carpenter and Wanda Jean Tillett.

Public Visitations will be held 5-8PM Thursday, March 10, 2022, and 11AM-1PM Friday, March 11, 2022, at Green River Pentecostal Church.

The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday at the church.  Bro. Gary Yocom and Bro. Rick Naylor will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Green River Pentecostal Church’s and Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook pages. 

Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.  Erick Moore, Joel Sanford, Donathan Moore, Gabriel Owens, Ryan Owens, and Phillip Austin will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Joyce’s nieces and nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
