Peggy Miniard Taylor, age 73, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, Kentucky, following a brief illness. Born Saturday, December 27, 1952, at home in the Baxter Community of Harlan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Dillard & Lucy Lewis Miniard. Peggy was the widow of Bobby Glen Taylor, whom she married Wednesday, December 23, 1987, and preceded her in death Friday, December 26, 2014. Peggy worked for the Lincoln County Public Schools as an Early Headstart Assistant and was a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church. Peggy loved her cats and enjoyed puzzle books in her spare time. Above all, Peggy loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Peggy leaves behind three sons, Shawn Taylor (Jessica) of Waynesburg, Chris Taylor (Anna) of Waynesburg, and Mark Taylor (Axel) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Meredith Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Lucy Jo Taylor, Weston Taylor, Dawson Taylor, and Claire Hall; one sister and her best friend, Joyce Miniard Baker of Waynesburg; and several friends who mourn her passing.
A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 1PM Thursday, at the funeral home. Bro. Vola Brown will officiate the service.
Burial will follow in Russell Cemetery #1 in Boyle County, Kentucky. Shawn Taylor, Chris Taylor, Mark Taylor, Kenny Goodin, Mikey Sumner, Bobby Miniard, Donnie Miniard, and Brandon Taylor will serve as Active Pallbearers. Peggy’s grandchildren, Peggy’s daughters-in-law, Peggy’s sister, and Edna Mae Goodin will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
