Ralph Donavon Jones

Ralph Donavon Jones, age 83, of Beech Grove, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022.  Born Wednesday, June 15, 1938, in Kings Mountain, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Homer Eugene Jones and the late Effie Mae Smith Jones Gooch.  His loving wife, whom he married Wednesday, June 15, 1960, is Sharon Luster Jones of Beech Grove.  Ralph retired, after 32 years of work as a sheet metal fabricator, for Fasteners & Fittings, Inc.  He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Hustonville, Kentucky.  Ralph enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers, gardening, fishing, and hunting. 

In addition to his wife, Ralph leaves behind two sons, Mark Jones (Tisha) and David Scott Jones both of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters, Zelma Jones (Jim Phelps) of Beech Grove, and Tammy Jo Jones of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lemma Maedale Estes of Shelbyville, Indiana, Doris Toombs of Hustonville, and Diane Durham (Norman) of Milford, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by one brother, Conrad Glen Jones; and two sisters, Verneda Rose Jones and Ina June Jones.

A Public Visitation will be held 5-7PM Monday, May 23, 2022, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Stanford, KY 40484. 

The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the funeral home.  Pastor Chris Deitsch will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Ralph’s obituary page:  https://www.friendfuneralhomes.com/obituary/RalphDonavon-Jones

Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery in Hustonville.  Active Pallbearers will be Jim Phelps, Joshua Jones, Aden Jones, Joseph Jones, Danny Marlow, and Steve Frederick.
