Randy Alexander Denny, age 26, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021, in Waynesburg. Born Wednesday, March 8, 1995, in Danville, Kentucky, he was the son of Lori A. Denny of Waynesburg and Vernon “Junior” Doan of Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Alex was a member of Olive Baptist Church. Alex enjoyed iron working, being outdoors, and worked as a logger for Denny’s Logging Company for many years. Alex was a talented musician, playing the guitar since he was seven years old, and enjoyed singing. Alex’s greatest joy was to be a daddy to Ari and Iris, and will be remembered for always smiling, being outgoing, and never meeting a stranger.
In addition to his parents, Alex leaves behind one daughter, Arianna “Ari” Denny of Waynesburg; three sisters, Haley Holt (Elias) of Danville, Kentucky, Amber Doan of Rockcastle County, and Leeann Doan of Rockcastle County; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Bonnie Denny of Waynesburg, paternal grandparents, Vernon Sr. and Charlotte Doan of Rockcastle County; aunts and uncles, Dennis “DJ” and Jessica Denny of Waynesburg, Adrienne “Aunty A” and Miles Rutherford of Waynesburg, Dennis Doan, Debbie Hellard, Tina Doan, Dalmus “Moe” and Vicki Doan and Michael Doan all of Rockcastle County; one niece, Natalie of Danville; and several cousins, great aunts and great uncles.
Alex was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Iris Jade Denny.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home. Bro. Jack Stallsworth will officiate the service.
Nathan Broaddus will take Alex on his “final ride” to Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Dalton Browning, Noah Goodpastor, Matt Morgan, Nathan Broaddus, Ethan “Chigg” Goodpastor, Blake Cochran, Mark “Satch” Eldridge, and Logan Miller will serve as Active Pallbearers. Dennis “DJ” Denny and Miles Rutherford will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitations will be held 5-8PM Friday, July 9, 2021, and 12-2PM Saturday, at the funeral home.
