Vivian Jo Cummins

Vivian Jo Cummins, 67, of Lancaster, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Stanford Health & Rehab. Born Sunday, June 20, 1954 in Mercer County, KY to the late Marvin Proctor and Martha Jewell Russell and was the widow of the late Walter Cecil Cummins, Sr. She was the owner and operator of Cecil & Jo’s Pawn Shop for many years. Jo enjoyed playing bingo and loved cooking for people. She was a member of Lancaster First Assembly Church in Lancaster where she planned church events and worked in the food pantry.

Survivors include three daughters, Cecilia Wright (Daniel) of Highland, KY, Susan Cummins of Danville, KY, and Candace Cummins (Cody Fox) of Winchester, KY; one sister, Gayle Salyers of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Daniel Wright (Amelia), Ryan Wright (Megan), Trentin Hall (Abagayle), and Stewart Wofford; three great-grandchildren, Houston, Kingstin, and Waylon; and several nieces, nephews, and her church family at Lancaster First Assembly.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, J.R. Cummins; one grandson, Tiler Lee; two brothers, Cleo Proctor and Billy Wayne Proctor; and one sister, Peggy Elder.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 5-8pm at Lancaster First Assembly Church in Lancaster. Funeral service will be 12pm Monday, January 10, 2022 at the church with Pastor Wendell Johnson officiating with burial following at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, KY. Pallbearers will be Daniel L. Wright, Daniel T. Wright, Cody Fox, Ryan Wright, Trentin Hall, and Bob Dailey. Honorary bearers are Stewart Wofford and Lancaster First Assembly members.
