Albert Porter Stamper, age 100, of Stanford, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  Born Wednesday, November 24, 1915 in the Wide Creek Community of Lee County, he was the son of the late Johnny & Fannie Deaton Stamper.  He was the widower of the late Lela Mae Stamper, who preceded him in death October 22, 2015.  Albert was a US Army WWII Veteran.  He worked at the Civil Service and was of the Pentecostal faith.  Albert loved horses and dogs, loved working on the farm, fishing, and gardening. 

Albert leaves behind one daughter, Connie Miller of Stanford; one granddaughter, Whitney Grizzell (James Michael) of Stanford; two great-grandchildren, Donovan Grizzell and Haley Grizzell both of Stanford.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held 12Noon Thursday August 25, 2016 at Fox & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Kerry Jones officiating the service.  Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Full Military Honors performed by Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion.

The Visitation will be held 10AM, until service time, Thursday at the funeral home.
