Wilba Mack Phillippe

Wilba Mack Phillippe, age 88, husband of 69 years to Freda Adams Phillippe, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 at his residence in Kings Mountain. 

Mack was born Thursday, October 20, 1927 in Casey County.  He was the son of the late William & Clatie (Owens) Phillippe.  Mack was a loving, caring, Christian husband, father, and loved all his grandchildren with a passion.

Mack spent his working years as a farmer.  Mack worked at Farmers Tobacco Warehouse in Danville for 50 years.  He was also a former employee of Douglas in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Mack loved his church.  He was a member of Pond Baptist Church, where he served as song leader, for 48 years, Sunday School teacher, Training Union director, and also served on the board of Lincoln County Baptist Association. 

Mack was an avid sports fan.  He went to as many of his grandchildren’s sports events he could.  He even followed the Casey County Rebels when he didn’t have a family member playing.  His television was always on a sports channel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, William (Pamela) Phillippe of Florida, and David (Susan Richardson) Phillippe of Russell Springs; one daughter, Patricia (Mike) Richardson of Liberty; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a special angel on Earth, Barbara (Sis) Tucker of Walltown; two brothers, Murrell (Reba) Phillippe of Walltown, and Earl (May) Phillippe of Indiana; and one sister, Opal (Phillippe) Ellison of Indiana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Richardson; brothers, Hobert, Ted, JT, Joe, Hayden, and Paul; and two sisters, Lucille & Pearl.

A Visitation will be held 6-9PM Monday, August 22, 2016 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home in Waynesburg.

A Second Visitation will be held 9AM-11AM Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Pond Baptist Church. 

The Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday at the church.  Bro. Wayne Stephens and Joe Hixson will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in KP Hall Cemetery.  Travis Phillippe, Ryan Phillippe, Branden Phillippe, Mikey Richardson, Joe Martindill, Shannon Fisher, Mike Richardson, and Gaius Dean will serve as Active Pallbearers.  Letitia Dean, Angela Fisher, Kristen Fisher, Kaitlynne Fisher, Justin Kingston, Kinlee Kingston, Chase Dean, Olivia Dean, Alexis Phillippe, Aleah Phillippe, Miranda Martindill, Mariah Richardson Mason Richardson, Mackenzie Richardson, Adeline Richardson, Randi Blake will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. 

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions suggested to Pond Baptist Church, 2895 Pond School Road, Kings Mountain, KY 40442, or KP Hall Cemetery Fund, 5350 KY Hwy 501, Kings Mountain.
